"My God, my God, why halt Thou forsaken me?"
Yet once Immanuel's orphaned cry the universe hath shaken:
It went up single, echoless, 'My God, I am forsaken!'
It went up from His holy lips amid His lost creation
That no one else need ever cry that cry of desolation.
(Ps. 22. 1; Matt. 27. 46; Mark 15. 34)
